Student Life & Engagement Quick Start Guide Learning Management System elevateU on Percipio

elevateU SLE compliance training overview:

  • The division of Student Life & Engagement (SLE) uses the Percipio elevateU system to provide and track essential training for health & safety compliance, human resources professional development, supervisors, technology systems and business procedures.
  • Compliance training is required for some units before beginning your first shift and annually. SLE employees with recurring assignments must complete refresher training between January 1 and the divisional deadline of March 31 every year.
  • Regular/full-time team members must also complete training in a separate system (Ability LMS) at different intervals for Relationship Violence & Sexual Misconduct (RVSM) awareness and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI). RVSM or DEI training is not required for your first shift and is administered by the Office of Research Regulatory Support at orrs.msu.edu/train.
  • Need assistance? Contact your supervisor.

Before you begin:

  • Your login to elevateU will be activated one to three business days after your official hire and start date. You should receive a welcome email from noreply@percipiocompliance.com.
Didn’t receive it? Check your junk mail folder and add this address to your email contact list.
  • You must have an activated MSU NetID. For information about NetIDs, contact your supervisor or visit netid.msu.edu).

Logging In:

  • Regular/full-time team members can access the system through the Enterprise Business System (EBS) under the My Career & Training section, by selecting the elevateU Online Training tile.
  • Student, temporary and on-call team members should go to https://elevateU.percipio.com on a computer or tablet (some training is not yet compatible with mobile phones).

First time accessing the site?

You may be prompted to select a “role” that relates to your job title. If you are a student, temporary or on-call team member, the role you select will not have an impact, so you can type something generic like "Customer Service Representative." If you are a regular/full-time team member, the role you choose will impact the learning content you are offered. You can choose from a list of available roles from this Job Roles FAQ area. The second bullet point is "Where can I find a list of the job roles that Percipio supports?" Expand that question then click the link to access the PDF document of current job roles. The list of roles will be updated frequently.

Accessing assigned courses:

  • Any upcoming or overdue compliance training will be displayed toward the top of the home page.
  • Click the link to Go to compliance now.

  • Throughout training, you can close out of the player window then return later to resume training at any time.
  • At the end of most courses, take the test and confirm you scored at least 80% or retake it.
  • After completing all assigned courses, you should see confirmation of completion and results for the final test.  See the next section for viewing your training history or transcript.

Completion, transcript & site-specific training:

  • Transcript or training history: Upon completion of each course, the system sends you an email. Follow any instructions from your supervisor or human resources coordinator when you have completed all training so they can schedule your regular shift work. They may want you to forward emails or take a screen shot and send your learning transcript.
  • To access and send your transcript: Log in as described previously in this guide. Toward the upper-right corner of the main page, next to your initials, click/select the icon that is a grid with nine dots (Skillsoft Apps icon), then select Compliance when it appears.

  • Site-specific: In addition to the online courses, you must complete a site-specific training where your supervisor (or designee) discusses your unit’s unique safety requirements, locations of Safety Data Sheets, emergency evacuation plans, ladder safety and other important information on a site-specific training checklist.
  • Audits: The completed checklist is to be kept on file in your unit and referenced when the SLE Health and Safety Office performs annual audits.
