Some optional and approved software is available for RHS Mac computers and mobile devices through the JAMF Self Service application for team members to install.

Examples of optional software that is available for installation via Self Service include: Adobe Acrobat PDF readers, Camtasia, Dropbox, Kaltura Capture, Microsoft 365 Copilot, Okta Verify, Snagit, RStudio, and more.
In the first section below below, we will install ESET via JAMF Self-Service on an RHS Mac computer as an example. The installation process is the same, regardless of which specific application that is being installed.
In the second section, instructions are provided for adding Self Service apps to mobile Apple devices (such as iPads).
Installing Approved Software On an RHS Apple Computer Via Self Service
- Open Finder and navigate to Finder\Applications
- Open Self Service
- In the Self Service window that opens, find your desired application (in this example, ESET Endpoint Security) and select Install
- If you are taken to a sub-page for the application, as seen below, click the Install button again.
- The installation will begin. When the install is complete, the "install" button will change to "open" and "reinstall" buttons.
- Choose the "open" button to start the application you just installed.
- Test the software and confirm it is running correctly. Contact the DSS Service Desk if any further assistance is required at this point.
Installing Approved Software On Your Apple Mobile Device (iPad / iPhone) Via Self Service
The Self Service app is also available by default on RHS mobile Apple devices, such as iPads. The instructions below provide guidance for installing pre-approved software using the Self Service app on RHS iPads.
- Unlock the device and look for an app named "Self Service":
- The app icon may already be on the homepage listed alongside other installed apps:
- Swiping all the way to right on the home screen will display more apps along with a search feature, you may be able to find the Self Service app available there:
- If you are still unable to find the app, use the app search feature visible when swiping all the way to the right on the home screen to search for "Self Service":
- Open the Self Service app. The screen below will be visible, allowing you to quickly add featured Office 365 apps to the device. Below the featured Office 365 apps, you can also choose "browse all" to look for additional pre-approved apps to install. Once you have found your app, simply hit the 'install' button, and the app will be added to the device.
