Setting up a printer using PrinterLogic

Divisional copiers and printers are managed and installed on Windows computers using PrinterLogic. Access PrinterLogic by navigating to printers.sle.msu.edu and following the steps for any of these browsers:

Before you begin, find out the name of the printer you would like to print to. The name is usually listed on a label affixed to the device.

The first time you use PrinterLogic in each browser, you may need to add and enable an "extension."

Installing Printers through Google Chrome

  1. Open Chrome and type printers.sle.msu.edu for the web address.

  2. If prompted to Install the Chrome Extension see the screen shots/instructions below.*
    1. Click Ellipses in upper right corner of Chrome.
    2. Hover over Extensions.
    3. Choose Manage Extensions.
    4. Find the PrinterLogic extension and select the radio button in the lower right corner of the box.
    5. You may need to refresh the printers.sle.msu.edu page for the extension prompt to disappear.
  3. If not prompted for an extension, skip to step 4.Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)​​​​​​​
  4. Open another tab and navigate to printers.sle.msu.edu.
    Note: If the page stays at "loading" for a long time, press the browser Refresh (circular arrow) icon next to the web address, or press F5 on your keyboard.
  5. Navigate the left location menu, selecting the neighborhood, building and floor where the printer resides.
  6. Click to select the printer's name.

  7. If you want this printer to be the default printer your computer usually attempts to send to, check the Set as Default box. Otherwise, leave the box unchecked. Then select Yes to install.

    The drivers and connection are installed. Next time you open a program and print, you should see this device as an option. 
    *Note: You should only have to install the Google Extension the first time you use PrinterLogic on that computer. 

 

Installing Printers through Mozilla Firefox

  1. Open Firefox and type printers.sle.msu.edu for the web address.

  2. If prompted, click to Install the Firefox Extension.*
    If not prompted for an extension, skip to step 8.

  3. Click Install Extension.

  4. Select Continue to Installation.

  5. Click Add.

  6. Click Okay.

  7. In a new tab or Firefox window, browse to printers.sle.msu.edu.
  8. Navigate the left location menu, selecting the neighborhood, building and floor where the printer resides.
  9. Click to select the printer's name.

  10. If you want this printer to be the default printer your computer usually attempts to send to, check the Set as Default box. Otherwise, leave the box unchecked. Then select Yes to install.

Installing Printers through Microsoft Edge

  1. Open Edge and type printers.sle.msu.edu for the web address.

  2. If prompted, click to Install the Edge Chromium Extension.*
    If not prompted for an extension, skip to step 7.

  3. A web page displays. Click to select the orange Edge Extension button.

  4. Click the blue Get button. Or, if it says this is already installed but disabled, select Turn On.

  5. When prompted, select the button to Add extension.

  6. In a new tab or Edge window, browse to printers.sle.msu.edu.
  7. Navigate the left location menu, selecting the neighborhood, building and floor where the printer resides.
  8. Click to select the printer's name.

  9. If you want this printer to be the default printer your computer usually attempts to send to, check the Set as Default box. Otherwise, leave the box unchecked. Then select Yes to install.
