Your MSU NetID is your personal identifier at MSU and serves as your login to many services. It also determines your MSU email addresses.
How to Change Your NetID Password
If you have forgotten your NetID password or otherwise need to change it, visit netid.msu.edu/password/index.html.
Look for the green boxes toward the bottom of the page and select the option you need:
“Reset a Forgotten Password” or “Change a Password.”

Request to Change NetID
You can request to change your NetID by visiting netid.msu.edu/manage/change-netid.html.
All requests are subject to approval by MSU Information Technology.
Follow the steps listed.
If your request is approved, be sure to notify your supervisor who will then notify SLE Digital Strategies and Services as well as any other appropriate parties.
